Popcorn Balls

Ingredients:

8 cups popcorn popped
1/2 c dark corn syrup
1/2 c brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 c. butter

Combine last 4 ingredients LG pot stirring constantly.  Add popcorn folding it into mixture. Cool. Dip hands in cold water and shape balls. Place on waxed paper wrap with plastic wrap or wrappers.

Feeling Better

Better days ahead. Feeling a little better. I'm walking without my walker some. Knee isn't as tight. It hasn't even been 3 weeks yet. They say I'm doing great. I'm trying real hard. But time is my best friend for healing.

Big Health Scare

It started out with acid reflux next thing I know I was having severe chest pains, shaking, jumping up & down blood pressure, vomiting, dizziness. So immediately called Gary and was told to lay down & prop legs up. I did but the same symtoms subsided. After almost 3 1/2 hrs the parametrics show up. Ughh I hate hospitals!! The nice kind guys escorted me to the stretcher & here goes the needle poking fun. Hate it too!! Well, through all this scare I arrived to the ER after bumpy ride to lay in the hallway for almost hour, it sucked !! Oh well, at least I'm at the right place I think. Got checked out turned out gastritis & discharged yay thank you Jesus for another day !! Doc orders: Follow up with cardiologist

My step daughter dresses up for work to win a TEXANS tickets. She's so cute!! In loving memory of Helen Cook my beloved Mom. Love & miss her so much. Got her on my mind today ... She's thinking of me in heaven.

Welcome Fall

It's fall folks in the country. I love fall weather!! The trees turn and it gets cooler. The heat up here is unbearable at times. I just end up hyperinating in the house when triple digits arrive. Thank God it's cooler now  ... Cabin fever sucks !! Lol 

New Garage Building

The new garage construction started this week, so glad. Looking forward to getting a lot of my stuff out of storage. Sorting, selling and saving is going to be biggest job and if all fails...have a Garage Sale!!

Traded in the Buick LaCrosse "black beauty" for our new Chevy Silverado "Ruby Rose". Needed something more roomy and towing capacity. She's beautiful if you ask me!!

Mark Chesnutt Concert

We had the best time at the Mark Chesnutt concert at Banita Creek Dance Hall in Nacogdoches, TX.  First we got there alittle early because it was only a hour and half travel trip.  So we took a few pics while it was daylight.  We purchased our wrist bands also, the hall doors didn't open up until 7pm.  Whew we worked up a little appetite so we mosey on over to the cafe across the street.  No wait, that was even better.  It was delicious guess I was reallllly hungry. lol  By the time we got back it was time to stand up close to the entry door of the hall.  We wanted up front close as we could.  Sure enough.....we got a front table but their was a problem.  Their was  huge dance floor in between us and the band stage.  SUCKS!! So I sat and thought about how we are going to get up close to Mark Chesnutt.  When it come time for the opening band to quit...guess what?  Donna ran to the front of the stage and took my place, lost my table who cares!! Mark came on and boy has he gotten older.  Few gray hairs but still could sing y'all. He put on a good show so good he broke his guitar string.  He was alittle embarrassed.  Then he looked real funny without his guitar.  He just stood there with his hands in his pockets and sung.  As the show went on, he drunk his bucket of Miller Lite beer.  He even came back for an encore.  I thought that was neat.  The highlight of the night was he personally handed me his guitar pick.  So I went to buy a Tshirt and we left.

This was the place we ate salads last sat. night before the Mark Chesnutt concert. The food was great and so was the concert. Mark personally handed me his guitar pic...way 2 cool y'all.

Happy Friday 13th

I'm feeling pretty good. Awake real early which is usual.  I usally don't stay up after Gary leaves for work early.  Guess I got a second wind..lol  Things are going great with us !!

I'm really happy we got our new storage building delivered.  We needed it badly.  That's great news also!!

Nothing new other than we are doing well except I still seem to have alittle sore throat.  It hurt so bad yesterday I threw up.  I wish it would go away.  Guess I need to pray alittle HARDER. 

I pray this day goes by quick.  Gary is on his last day of work schedule.  I miss him when he's gone but glad when he goes back.  That's funny huh?  He is good to have around though...lol  He does things for me when my back gives out, I really love that.  I'm so blessed to have a hard working husband at his age.  He just don't know HOW much he's appreciated.  I'm BLESSED.
